Overview: ONE68’s fitout of the 1956 Olympic Lounge at the MCG has breathed new life into one of the stadium’s most iconic hospitality spaces, blending contemporary luxury with a respectful nod to its historic namesake. The refurbishment delivered a modern, high-performing venue while preserving the prestige and character that make the Lounge a favourite on match day.

The works began with the demolition of existing finishes, followed by the construction of new partitions, ceilings, wall linings, and floor treatments. Custom joinery, bar and service counters, and premium finishes were meticulously crafted to align with the design intent, while curated lighting enhanced both atmosphere and function. Rich textures, warm tones, and carefully selected furnishings create an inviting environment, complemented by subtle design references to the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games that honour the venue’s heritage.

Building services—including mechanical, electrical, lighting, hydraulic, and fire systems—were upgraded to meet modern compliance standards, all delivered under strict coordination with MCG operations, security protocols, and event schedules. The project concluded with thorough commissioning, final detailing, and handover, resulting in a sophisticated, durable hospitality space that elevates the guest experience and stands as a showcase of ONE68’s craftsmanship and commitment to quality.
